5 RELEASES · NEWEST 30 September 2026

What changed.

Every release of both apps, taken from the update feeds rather than retyped — which is how a changelog ends up disagreeing with what the updater shows.

Quick answer

Hangly is at 2.1.2 on macOS and 2.1.2 on Windows. Vision is at 1.1 on macOS. Every entry below is generated from the app's own update feed at build time.

Hangly 2.1.2 macOS

30 September 2026 · needs macOS 14.0 · 35 MB

  • Hangly opens at login again. Launch at login is now on by default for everyone. If you would rather start Hangly yourself, turn it off in Appearance, and it stays off.

Hangly 2.1.1 macOS

29 September 2026 · needs macOS 14.0 · 35 MB

  • Your setup comes back. After the Spider-Man entrance has shown itself off for two launches, every charm you had on the rope returns, in order and at its own size, with your rope style. Anything you chose meanwhile stays.
  • Quieter under the hood. Hangly now reports when an update arrives and installs, so problems with updates are noticed. Nothing personal is sent.

Hangly 2.1.0 macOS

29 September 2026 · needs macOS 14.0 · 35 MB

Spider-Man drops in, the rope stretches, and updates arrive while you're away.

  • The Spider-Man entrance. With Spider-Man on the rope, Hangly starts with a web across the top of your screen and him dropping in on his strand. For the first two launches after this update, Hangly shows it off on its own look and sound; on the third your settings come back, and Spider-Man stays until you choose another charm.
  • An elastic rope, and charms that react. Pull the charm and the cord stretches and settles; move quickly towards it and it swings away.
  • On top, or on your desktop, with a soft or strong glow.
  • More ways to make your own. Drop an SVG, or paste a picture with ⌘V, and it opens in Creator Studio. The Library remembers what you've hung lately.
  • Quiet updates. Hangly now installs updates while your screen is locked or asleep, and shows you what's new when you're back.
  • A simpler welcome and Appearance page, sound at half volume on a new install, and every window opening in the middle of your display.
  • Your installation record. Hangly now keeps one record for this Mac: the name you gave, your city and your versions, with crash reports through Firebase. Appearance → Privacy says exactly what is sent.

How updates reach you

On macOS both apps use Sparkle, which checks the feed on this site and installs in the background. Hangly has done this since 2.0; before that a new version meant downloading it by hand. On Windows, Hangly updates through Velopack, which checks when the app launches and applies the update at the next start.

This page is built from those same feeds. A release that is not in a feed cannot appear here, and a release that is here is one the updater will offer.

In short

Hangly on macOS is the mature build and moves in proper releases; the Windows build is still in the 0.9 range and moves faster and rougher. Vision is a smaller app with a smaller history. Nothing on this page is written by hand — it is the update feeds, rendered.
